Day-1: Manali To Chika Via Jobra

Jobra – 3,000 m / 9,800 ft
Chika 3,100 m / 10,100 ft.
Drive Distance (Manli to Jobra): 16km | 1hr.
Trek Distance (Jobra to Chika): 3km | 2hrs.
Reporting Time: 12:00 PM Drop Time: 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm (Timings are subject to change based on weather and road conditions). Please reach Manali a day before to avoid any kind of delays.
Day-2: Chika To Balu Ka Ghera
Stay At A Beautiful Campsite...
Altitude: 3,800 m/ 12,400 ft.
Trek Distance: 9km | Duration: 5 to 6 hrs.
On Day 2, you will trek from Chika to Balu Ka Ghera, covering a distance of approximately 9 km in 5-6 hours. After an early breakfast at the campsite, you’ll begin the gradual ascent along the Hampta River, surrounded by stunning alpine scenery. The trail takes you through lush meadows, small streams, and rocky patches, with spectacular views of the snow-capped Dhauladhar Range. Along the way, you’ll encounter natural rock formations and vibrant wildflowers, adding to the beauty of the trek.
Balu Ka Ghera, which translates to “bed of sand,” is a serene campsite located at the foot of the Hampta Pass, offering panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. After reaching the campsite by afternoon, you can rest, explore the area, and acclimatize to the increasing altitude. Spend the evening enjoying a warm meal and preparing for the challenging day ahead.
Day-3: Balu Ka Ghera To Shea Goru

Altitude: Hampta Pass – 4,300 m / 14,100 ft | Shea Goru- 3,900 m/ 12,900 ft
Trek Distance: 7 km | Duration: 10 hr
Altitude Gain: 520 m/ 1,700 ft.
On Day 3, you will embark on the most exciting part of the trek, crossing the Hampta Pass to reach Shea Goru, covering approximately 7-8 km in 7-8 hours. After an early breakfast, begin the steep ascent from Balu Ka Ghera, navigating through rocky terrain, patches of snow, and glacial streams. As you climb, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar Range and surrounding valleys.
Reaching the Hampta Pass at an altitude of 4,270 meters (14,000 feet) is the highlight of the day, offering stunning panoramic views of the lush Kullu Valley on one side and the barren landscapes of Lahaul and Spiti on the other. After spending some time at the pass to take in the beauty, begin the descent, which can be challenging due to loose rocks and snow patches.
By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at Shea Goru, a picturesque campsite nestled beside a river, surrounded by towering mountains. Relax and recover from the long day while soaking in the tranquil ambiance of this high-altitude meadow. Enjoy a warm dinner and rest well to prepare for the next day.
Day-4: Shea Goru To Chatru And Drive To Chandratal
Bask In the Serenity Of The Lake...
Altitude: Chatru- 3,350 m / 11,000 ft.
Trek Distance: 7 km | Duration: 5 hr.
Drive Distance: 50 km, 3-4 hr to Chandratal and back to the campsite, either on day 4 or day 5 (depending on road and weather conditions).
On Day 4, trek 5 km from Shea Goru to Chatru, descending through rocky trails with stunning views of the Spiti Valley. After a brief rest and meal at Chatru, drive to the mesmerizing Chandratal Lake, renowned for its turquoise waters and breathtaking mountain reflections. Spend time exploring the lake before heading to the nearby campsite for dinner and an overnight stay under the stars.
Day-5: Chatru To Manali
Bid Adieu To The Mountains...
Drive Distance: 65 km | Duration: 5-6 hr.
Note:
You can visit Chandratal if road and weather condition permits us. If not, you will have to drive directly from Chatru to Manali and skip Chandratal altogether.

Keep a buffer day in your travel plan.
